Updating nvidia graphics

Under the device manager tab, the GTX 960M tab was marked with a yellow sign, going into the details section it gave a message that the device stopped working.

I uninstalled the driver completely, restarted my laptop, still did could not play the games, cause the only videocard that works now is the Intel one, that can't handle heavy games.

And I can confirm it's not a hardware problem, it's because I accidentally uninstalled it and I have no idea how to get the laptop to re-detect that it has a GPU plugged... The driver lenovo provided is similar to the one from nvidia, which means it won't work if the laptop doesn't detect the GPU.

So I went ahead and did the update, it prompted me to restart the system, so I did so.

Thought everything was all fine, until I booted Overwatch and everything was distorted.

-Some other threads mentioned plugging in the GPU again, but that would be unfeasible to do on a laptop... If all else fails, I guess I am going to resort to factory resets... I really don't like the idea of deleting all my data and yet the problem persists... The only one solution is Shutdown your computer completly, before that you have to Disable Hybrid Starting. Run an elevated command promt CMD - right click, run as administrator and type the following: 2. Shutdown your computer via startmenu shutdown function. Start your computer as usual, try to avoid restart that's a common issue with nvidia gpus.

I am running Windows 8.1 64bit on a Lenovo ideapad s410p laptop.

Then click on the Action menu and click on "Scan for hardware changes". You might need to download the mobile version of the GPU?

You've probably solved your issue by now but it just happened to me as well.

He said he uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it was fine. I can't update my bios (another possible solution I found) because it was a custom built machine and they say they don't support it. This morning I logged on to play some games, and noticed that Nvidia Geforce Experience had a notification that there was a driver update available (they come out with frequent driver updates, and I have done this several times).

I'll keep trying Hi Guys, All was going well last night when I was gaming on my 3 month old Dell Inspirion 15 (7559).

System restore does not work (The oldest backup, somehow, is AFTER the uninstallation), and I really do not want to resort to factory reset...
